Perception of COVID-19 Vaccination Based on Health Belief Model and the Acceptance of COVID-19 Booster Vaccination

Background: The COVID-19 booster vaccination proposes a spike in cases due to new infection variants. According the Health Belief Model (HBM), acceptance is health change behavior measured by perception. However, more information needed about relationship between public perception and future of vaccination.Purpose: This research aimed analyze based on HBM vaccination.Methods: used observational analytics design with cross-sectional approach conducted at community center Jember Regency, Indonesia. Purposive sampling was recruit 387 respondents. inclusion criteria were people aged >18 who had received complete primary vaccination. instruments consisted some questionnaires: respondent characteristics, perceptions HBM, Data analyzed using Chi-square logistic regression test.Results: results showed that most respondents accepted vaccine (67.4%). There significant perception’s subscales vaccination, such as perceived susceptibility (p=0.001), severity benefits barriers cues action (p=0.001) Cues dominant factor related (OR=5.265; 95%CI=3.073-9.022; p<0.001).Conclusion: Positive all subscales, which good community, indicated high vaccine. For clinical practice, this can be developed surveying patients have comorbidities.
